Error description

  • BE Support Engineer: CJ
    Change Team Engineer: EJ
    SAMP: 3.2.2

Problem Description: When displaying cluster information using
"lssam -top" a change in request state is not updated to the
    lssam output.
    For example:
    Online IBM.ResourceGroup:db2-rg Nominal=Online
            |- Online IBM.Application:db2-rs
                    |- Online IBM.Application:db2-rs:node03
                    '- Offline IBM.Application:db2-rs:node04
            '- Online IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs
                    |- Online IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs:node03
                    '- Offline IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs:node04
    Issue command:
    rgreq -o lock db2-rg

Then lssam -top output changes to show
Control=SuspendedPropagated on the aggregate resource for each
of the resources in the targetted resource group, see below:
    Online IBM.ResourceGroup:db2-rg Nominal=Online
            |- Online IBM.Application:db2-rs Control=SuspendedPro...
                    |- Online IBM.Application:db2-rs:node03
                    '- Offline IBM.Application:db2-rs:node04
            '- Online IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs Control=SuspendedPro...
                    |- Online IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs:node03
                    '- Offline IBM.ServiceIP:db2ip-rs:node04

The RG should reflect the change due to the request. Stopping
and restarting the lssam -top will then show the request
    correctly:
    Online IBM.ResourceGroup:db2-rg Request=Lock Nominal=Online

Local fix

  • Stop and restart the "lssam -top" command

Problem conclusion

  • The internal handling of lssam has been adjusted to correct the
issue. Now lssam -top updates the list of requests that are
issued while the command is running.
    .
The official fix will be included in fixpack 4 of Tivoli System
    Automation for Multiplatforms 3.2.2
