Reconfiguring the TEPS caused the physical hostname instead of the logical hostname to be set in the TEP startup files. RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Install the Portal Server on a clustered server. 2) Add the following line to the $CANDLEHOME/*/cq/original/lnxenv file. KFW_INTERFACE_cnps_HOST=VIRTUALname where VIRTUALname is the virtual name of the clustered server. 3) Configure the Portal Server 4) Notice that the tep.jnlp file has the physical host name of the clustered server where it was configured rather than the logical server name. 5) Edit tep.jnlp and change all occurances of the physical server name to be the logical server name. 6) Configure the Portal Server 7) Notice that the tep.jnlp file has reverted to the physical host name of the clustered server where it was configured rather than the logical server name.
Edit tep.jnlp and change all occurances of the physical server name to be the logical server name each time after you configure the Portal Sever.
In a clustered environment, the user must define the virtual host name for the portal client to reach the portal server. The virtual host name is defined in <CANDLEHOME>/<platform>/cq/original/lnxenv using the setting KFW_INTERFACE_cnps_HOST=<virtualhostname>. After upgrading to 6.23.02.00, this setting is ignored in lieu of the local host name.
The code was changed to restore the original behavior that respects the virtual host name defined by the user. The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance vehicle: | fix pack | 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0003 | Note: Search the IBM technical support web site for maintenance package availability.
After configuring the portal server, edit <CANDLEHOME>/<platform>/cw/tep.jnlp and set cnp.http.url.host to the desired virtual host name value.
