Error description

  • WebSphere MQ queue manager ends.  FDC is created with Probe ID
    ZT160001 reporting "Timed-out waiting for process manager to
    start".
    The FDC indicates an attempted restart of the utility manager
    process during endmqm fails.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users may encounter this issue during endmqm if the queue
    manager process manager had previously ended due to some issue
    with the process manager (which would normally itself be
    reported via one or more FDCs). The probe ZT160001 FDC can be
    ignored.
    
    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    The endmqm process was attempting to restart the process manager
    if connection could not be established with it. The restart
    attempt could fail, leading to the probe ZT160001 FDC.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The endmqm process should not be attempting to restart the
    process manager and it has now been stopped from doing that.
