IV33520: PROBLEMS SYNCHRONIZING PROJECTS CHECKED INTO CLEARCASE

Error description

• WSRR Studio project is checked into clearcase (using snapshot
  views). After the project is checked in, delete the current
  view, create a brand new view to fetch the project from
  clearcase into Studio to simulate a second resource fetching
  and trying to use the Studio project from clearcase.
  
  While trying to synchronize the fetched project (which
  references other projects) with the same WSRR instance, studio
  is looking at a wrong location for the files to compare.

  8.0.0.1.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  Errors occurred when attempting to synchronise a Configuration
  Profile project against the currently active configuration
  profile in a WSRR instance if that Configuration Profile project
  was only referenced from the current Studio workspace, and did
  not actually exist in the current Studio workspace. (i.e. The
  folder for that Configuration Profile project were not located
  underneath or within the folder for the current Studio
  workspace.) The user would see that, irrespective of actual
  changes made to the profile, all files in the profile had
  changed and required updating. When opening the compare editor
  to compare the local file with the server copy of that file they
  would then see that the version of the file on the server was
  apparently empty.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was caused by Studio not being aware that the
  project was not actually contained within the current workspace,
  and was only referenced. Subsequently it was at times unable
  to find the local project, which caused it to misrepresent the
  contents of the remote profile.
  
  Studio has been fixed to now always search for the project based
  upon the project's location on the file system, and not the
  workspace's location on the file system.
