IV33169: "BMXAA4214E - AN UNKNOWN ERROR HAS OCCURED" WHILE TRYING TO REPLACE THE FEATURE LINKED TO THE ASSET

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Steps to replicate:
  
  1. Create new Asset and relate a Feature Class using link via
  the Map tab
  2. Save
  3. Record Asset number
  4. Go to > Assets > Assets
  5. Locate Asset number on list and select it
  6. On Asset Feature Class Detail Menu, select Open Map
  7. Select Create Feature from Edit menu and create a Feature by
  point and click on map
  8. Click ok
  9. Click Yes on question to replace
  10. Click No on delete previously linked feature
  11. Click save on Asset application
  
  The issue is: at this point, system presents the error:
  
  BMXAA4214E - An unknown error has occured.
  Please contact your system administrator for assistance.
  ORA-06550: line 1, column 8:
  PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ** when expecting one of the
  following:
  
  begin function package pragma procedure subtype type use
  <an identifier> <a double-quoted delimited-identifier> form
  current cursor
  The symbol '*' was ignored.

  ArcsSDE 9.3.1 SP2 with QFE
  Hydrant is in multiview
  I select the SDE.Water and registered as version, which included
  HYDRANT and I created the multiview table and created a view
  that points to that table.

  Database wasn't recognizing some formatting characters using in

Problem conclusion

• Formatting characters were removed, resolving the problem.
