APAR status

Error description

  • PROBLEM:
    
    Additional disk extension has been installed.  When adding a
    a new disk to an existing machine, on a second customer,
    cannot see the additional disk storage pools.
    
    For example, 2 machines exist.  One created with customer 1
    and
    and another with customer 2.  When you try to add disk on the
    machine created under customer 1, it works.  When you try to add
    disk on the machine created under customer 2, you cannot see the
    storage pools in the SimpleSRM UI drop-down.
    
    Steps to reproduce:  Add new disk to an existing server.  When
    doing this operation for second customer, you cannot see
    additional disk storage pools.
    
    Current Erroneous Results:  Can not see additional disk storage
    pools in SimpleSRM UI.
    
    Expected result:  Should be able to see storage pools.

    * RECOMMENDATION:
    For permanent resolution upgrade Tivoli Service Automation
    Manager to 7.2.4.1 level.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem was , initially an images was used from which server
    is created, to populate format type in the UI . Since image was
    deleted on the customer environment UI was failing.
    
    As a solution TSAM Extension team used software module to decide
    format type to populate.
    For permanent resolution upgrade Tivoli Service Automation
    Manager to 7.2.4.1 which would be available on ISML.
