The application appears to hang on this delete job. We verified that we can optimize the TWS code in order to perform the delete forecast operation.
Local fix
Problem summary
This apar is applicable only to TWS 8.6 FP1 release that introduced the feature to remove the zombie forecast instances during the startup. When a forecast plan is created a temporary preproduction plan is generated and it is removed when the forecast is completed. If during the creation of the forecast, the customer kill the eWAS, some zombie forecast instances remain in the preproduction tables of the forecast. The eWAS startup clean these tables but using a single transaction. This apar implements the mechanism to delete the zombie forecast instabces during the startup of the eWAS with a block mechanismt.
Problem conclusion
This apar will be fixed into 8.6.0-TIV-TWS-FP0002.
Temporary fix
Run the following command: delete * from MDL.JSF_JS_INST_FORECAST
