IV31688: JOB NAME TRUNCATED FOR EVENT 203 WHEN JOB NAME CONTAINS UNDERSCORE OR HYPHEN CHARACTERS

Error description

• Using the following job stream definitions ...
  .
    SCHEDULE backup#pmr90403_d
    :
       backup#job1 AS pmr90403x01234567890
             PROMPT "Log event 203 message in events.log"
    END
  .
    SCHEDULE backup#pmr90403_c
    :
       backup#job1 AS pmr-90403
             PROMPT "Log event 203 message in events.log"
    END
  .
  And a BmEvents.conf file containing and EVENTS parameter
  including 203 and FILE configure to write to a file.  When job
  stream pmr90403_b is ready to launch the entry in the event log
  contains the job name "pmr90403x01234567890", e.g.:
  .
    203                                                       PMR9
    0403X01234567890           BACKUP 259 Log event 203 message in
     events.log       PMR90403_D 2012103016320000 v.4
  .
  However, when job stream pmr90403_c is ready to launch, the
  entry in the event log contains the job name "pmr", e.g.:
  .
    203
                 PMR           BACKUP 258 Log event 203 message in
     events.log       PMR90403_C 2012103015420000 v.4
  .
  In this case the job name is being truncated at the dash (-)
  character. I also see the job name truncated in a similar way
  when the job name contains an underscore (_) character.

  Problem has also been reproduced on 8.4.0.06 and 8.6.0.01.
  

Local fix

• Remove underscore (_) and dash/hyphen (-) characters from job
  names.
