Local fix
The following URL in an alternative way to build the index directly on the solr server: http://<solrserver>:<port_number>/solr/MC_10001_CatalogEntry_en_ US/dataimport?command=full-import
Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: Users who are building the solr index prior to FEP5 PROBLEM ABSTRACT: The buildindex utility times out with a SocketException error BUSINESS IMPACT: Users do not know whether the index was build since the utility times out RECOMMENDATION:
Problem conclusion
Adding timeout values (SolrConnTimeout, soTimeout) which allow the utility to complete without timing out. (depending on the value) Those timeout values already present in FEP5. Refer to the following documentation on usage of these timeout parameters: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wchelp/v7r0m0/topic/com.ibm.co mmerce.admin.doc/refs/rsddibuildindex.htm ------------------------------------------------------------- The latest available maintenance information can be obtained from the Recommended Fixes for WebSphere Commerce technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3046&uid=swg21261296
