Error description

  • Attempt to logon to msprojects integration fails when userid and
loginid do not match. Error BMXAA0035E

Not a project integration issue but a bug in base Maximo.

    ****Steps to replicate

Alter a user account so that the userid and loginid are
    different.

So for example change smith to smithlogin.

    Attempt to logon as smithlogin

    --

    Error:

BMXAA0035E - The user name smithlogin is not recognized. Please
    contact your system administrator.

    Reproduced on BS 7118.

Apply the latest Hotfix BS7118 problem is resolved.

We think that this is related to code fix from Security related
    classes such as SecuritySevice.class etc.

It does appear to be the SecurityService.class, but I am not
sure if you need other files for it to work correctly (ie
    dependencies).

    Looking at the hotfix documentation.

I can not identify the APAR. It could be the fix was logged
    internally and therefore not documented.

    ****Environment

Envir: BS 7118, Oracle, WebSphere, OS win2008

    J2EE: VMMSYNC, MSAD

    Projects:

    ----------------
    Client desc:

when the ?userid is not same as loginid? we are getting this
    issue.

BMXAA0035E - The user name RWIL is not recognized. Please
    contact your system administrator.

    ****Version of Maximo: BS 7118
    ****Application within Maximo: Logon
    ****Industry Solution (if applicable): n/a

    ---

Requested to added a APAR by development.

Local fix

  • 1. Apply the latest 7.1.1.8 hotfix

This can not be done because of customization's implemented
which prevents applying patches or fixes.

    2. Create a user specifically for projects integration where
    userid/loginid are identical.

A temporary user could be setup in the projects ini file so that
    users
can log-on and use the projects adaptor while waiting for fix.
But been told security at client site is so tight this
    workarounds can
    not be used.

    3. Reset the userid/loginid to be same temporary.

This would resolve the problem, but client says this is not
    possible due
    to security constraints.

    -----

Apply the following files from the HF7118

    SecurityService$SecurityInfo.class
    SecurityService$SessionCounter.class
    SecurityService$UserMonitor.class
    SecurityService.class
    UserInfo.class

The error is coming from SecurityService.class but the other
    files are required (dependencies).
