Local fix

  • One could disable Stringpeepholes with
    -Xjit:disableStringpeepholes

Problem summary

  • the JIT crashes (Unhandled exception, 0x53eff) when java code
    contains a sequence similar to the following:
    (new StringBuilder()).append(arg1).append(arg2).toString()

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR3
    6.0.1 SR4
    .
    The jit has been updated to prevent the crash when the optimizer
    encounters the pattern above.

Temporary fix
