Local fix

  • Setting sched_compat_yield=1 as recommended in the diagnostic
guide

Problem summary

  • On linux platforms with the Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) in
default mode (sched_compat_yield=1) the JVMs default spinning
behavior resulted in sub-optimal performance for some
applications.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.1 SR4
7.0.0 SR3
.
   The default behavior was changed to provide better default
performance for these applications. In rare cases where this
change is not beneficial -Xthr:noCfsYield can be used to revert
to the previous behavior.
