Error description

  • v3.9-GA, FP1, FP2 - platform independent.

When Adaptive polling is enabled, poller does not to stop or
resume polling upon meeting the filter cretiria when users are
navigating through NetworkViews. This is due to database locks
created by Topoviz on ncim, ncpgui tables while accessing
NetworkViews preventing Poller to function accurately.

    Steps to replicate:
    1) Create a Filterd NetworkView with following condition:
       e.g. activeEvent.Tally < 10
    2) Create Poll policy (Chassis/Interface ICMP) and associate
above NetworkView and enable the policy.
    3) Keep few devices down, so that we get continuous fail events.
(You can implement iptables rules to block traffic)
    4) Open NetworkViews panel and keep navigating NetworkViews.

At this point, poller won't stop polling devices even after
    Tally becoming 10 or more.

Local fix

  • Do not use/open NetworkViews panel.
