  ABSTRACT:             Using substr column function and Oracle
  warehouse fails
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When using the SUBSTR function on a column and the warehouse is
  configured for Oracle, then the requests are done via JDBC. In
  the JDBC code the translation is not done when the SUBSTR
  function wraps the column name.

  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  Configure the TEPS for an Oracle Warehouse and then create a
  query that uses the SUBSTR function.

Local fix

Problem summary

• When specifying a query to the Warehouse database, the long
  column names need to be specified in the query and not the short
   name.  When the Oracle Warehouse is specified, the portal
  server eWAS JDBC code does not handle the translation properly
  and uses the short name which causes the query to fail with:
  
  KFWITM354E The Timespan request terminated with the following
  message:
  KFWITM217E: Request error java.sql.SQLException ORA-00904:
  "UNIXDISK"."MOUNTPT".  Invalid identifier.
  
  The column name 'MOUNTPT' and table name 'UNIXDISK' in the above
  message will be different based on the agent table and column in
  the query.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was modified to parse out the SUBSTR( ) value and
  translate the column name.
