Error description

  • Error Message: Problem symptom is a sequence of unprintable
    characters displayed by the sdk\bin\jdmpview "info proc" command
    when reading a Windows core dump:
    info proc
        address space # 0

          Command line arguments used for current process:
            ...unprintable characters...

    Problem occurs with core dumps from Windows Vista, Windows 7 and
    Windows 2008 or later Windows versions.
    

Local fix

  • The jdmpview "info proc" command also lists the program
    environment variables. This list may include the
    IBM_JAVA_COMMAND_LINE value, which provides an alternative
    display of the program command line arguments.
    

Problem summary

  • Problem is caused when the jdmpview tool reads core dumps from
    Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2008 or later Windows
    versions.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR12
    7.0.0 SR3
    6.0.1 SR4
    .
    The jdmpview tool has been updated to print the program command
    line arguments correctly.
