IV29694: RESTARTING STOPPED PURE EVENTS ARE NOT CLEARED FROM SEC

Error description

  • When setting the KFW_CMW_SITUATION_ADMIN_SUPPRESS=N environment
    
    variables in the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server it properly
    shows "Stopped" events at the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client.
    The problem is when pure events are stopped and restarted from
    the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client's "Situation Event Console"
    the stopped event is not cleared from the SEC.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Set the KFW_CMW_SITUATION_ADMIN_SUPPRESS environment variable to
    N. By default this environment variable is set to Y. This will
    allow stopped events to be shown in the tep client.
    
    - stop a pure situation, and this situation will be displayed in
      the TEP SEC -> OK
    - in the SEC -> right mouse -> start this sit, after starting
      the Sit, the Sit is still present in the SEC and is NOT
      removed from the SEC.

  • Recycle the TEPS
    

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • A new topic has been added to the IBM Tivoli Monitoring v6.3
    Troubleshooting Guide for restarting a situation for a pure
    event that does not clear it from the console.  The related
    environment variables have also been added to the Installation
    and Setup Guide, KFW_CMW_SITUATION_ADMIN_SUPPRESS and
    KFW_CMW_SITUATION_FANOUT_SUPPRESS.
