Problem summary
The problem is caused by an assumption in the JIT where a return value would always return an object pointer. In this case null was returned.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 7.0.0 SR3 6.0.1 SR4 6.0.0 SR12 5.0.0 SR14 . Ensured that null values could be tolerated.
