APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: On z/OS, if multiple asynchronous signals (e.g.
SIGQUIT) are issued to the JVM in quick succession, the JVM may
fail to respond promptly to the second and subsequent signals.
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .

Local fix

  • This issue can be worked around by ensuring that, when issuing
multiple asynchronous signals to the JVM, the subsequent signals
are not issued until the preceding one has been handled.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by a race condition in the JVM signal
    handling code.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.1 SR4
    7.0.0 SR3
    .
The JVM has been updated to remove the race condition.
