The problem has two symptoms : If @XMLElement is overridden in subclass and the overridden element is also annotated with @XMLElement then the fields of the subclass gets marshalled twice. If @XMLElement annotation is removed in subclass then only the super class elements gets marshalled.

Problem summary
Currently,JAXB code is unable to check the overridden fields in subclass while creating the node.So,on marshalling the subclass only super class elemets are getting marshalled.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 6.0.0 SR11 6.0.1 SR3 . JVM has been modified to check the overridden fields while marshalling.
