APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Communications Server for AIX and Linux
    ---------------------------------------
If an LUA program provides the wrong SNF in an RUI_WRITE for a
response, the RUI_WRITE returns OK but the response is never
    sent.

Local fix

  • Correct the program to provide the correct SNF.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED: All programs using the LUA API.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If an LUA application issues an RUI_WRITE with an SNA +ve RSP
with a sequence number field that does not match an outstanding
chain then the RUI_WRITE is accepted and no +ve RSP is sent to
    the mainframe.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Internal code is not properly rejecting the RUI_WRITE even
though it is properly preventing the +ve response from being
    sent.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been altered to properly reject the RUI_WRITE with
    error codes:
    primary return code: LUA_UNSUCCESSFUL
    secondary return code: LUA_RSP_CORRELATION_ERROR
