Error description

  • v3.9.0.49 - Platform independent.

    Environment: ITNM connected to ObjectServer virtual pair.

    When EventGateway (ncp_g_event) processing events, if a
    failover happens on the ObjectServer pair (i.e. Primary
    ObjectServer goes down) - the gate hits a deadlock situation
    and stops processing events.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * Core or deadlock of the ncp_g_event process can occur at or *
    * following a resynchronization of events with the Object *
    * Server. Resynchronize of events happens upon ITNM failover, *
    * Object Server failover, Object Server reconnection or HUP *
    * signal sent to ncp_g_event.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Restart ncp_g_event.                                         *

Problem conclusion

  • Resolved ncp_g_event thread synchronization problems when
    updating events at resynchronization.

    SQA Reproduction: Generate a continual event stream with both
    the RCA and Adaptive Polling plugins enabled. Force a
    resynchronization of events with the Object Server (eg bring
    down or bring back up a primary object server in a virtual
    pair).
