APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: UnsatisfiedLinkError is thrown when attempting to
call a native which was bound via the JNI function
RegisterNatives and the declaring class has been redefined.
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Classes which are recreated as a side-effect of recreating other
classes were not retaining their bound native implementations.
This is only visible if the native method was bound using
RegisterNatives as the VM would simply re-bind natives that were
    found in loaded JNI libraries.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR1
    6.0.1 SR2
    6.0.0 SR11
    .
JVM has been updated to retain the bound native information in
    all cases.
