IV15691: THE ACTION WHICH MAKES THE QUERY RESULTS HAS CODE TO TRUNCATE THE BREAD CRUMB TO "QUERY RESULTS"

APAR status

Error description

• The issue is the bread crumb trail, when the back button is used
  the
  bread crumb trail gets longer for each item whose details is
  viewed.
  
  This is because when a column is sorted in the Web UI, the URL
  used when
  back is pressed is that of the action which sorts the column,
  not the
  action which generated the query results.
  
  The action which makes the query results has code to truncate
  the bread
  crumb to "Query Results". However, the code which sorts the
  columns
  seems not to have this code.
  
  This also occurs in other views, for example the plain "Other
  Documents"
  view.

Problem summary

• When viewing a sorted collection in the WebSphere Service
  Registry and Repository Web UI, if the details of an item in the
  view is shown, then the user pressed the Web Browser back
  button, the bread crumb trail will still show the item which
  was viewed. If the user then views another item and presses the
  Web Browser back button, the bread crumb trail will append the
  name of the viewed item.
  
  This only occurs if the original collection view was sorted, by
  clicking on the sort icon on one of the columns.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was changed to truncate the bread crumb trail in the
  sort action, so that using the back button results in the entry
  for the item that was viewed being removed from the bread crumb
  trail.
