Error description

  • Error Message: A segmentation error is received when the JVMTI
agent makes call to GetCurrentContendedMonitor().
  This could happen on all platforms.

Local fix

  • The JVMTI agent can stop calling GetCurrentContendedMonitor(),
or it can be disabled completely.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when the thread being inspected by the
JVMTI agent changes its state.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:

This defect will be fixed in:
7.0.0 SR1
6.0.1 SR2
6.0.0 SR10
5.0.0 SR14
.
  The JVM has been updated so that the thread is halted while it
is being inspected.
