APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: A SIGFPE is received during normal operation of
    the JVM, causing the JVM to crash. This only affects Java 6.0.1
    and Java 7.

Local fix

  • This issue can be worked around by specifying
    -Xjit:disableInterpreterProfiling on the JVM command line.
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by a corner case in the manipulation of
    profiled statistics by the JIT compiler.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.1 SR2
    7.0.0 SR1
    .
    The JIT compiler has been updated to prevent the bad
    computation.
