• Enhancements for client / server communication for Business
  space widgets
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Communications between the client (browser) based WSRR Business
  Space widgets and the Business Space / WSRR server involves
  hundreds of separate HTTP request/response 'round trips'. This
  can lead to a slow response within the user interface when the
  communications network has significant latency or bandwidth
  limitations.
  

Problem conclusion

• A number of code changes have been made both to the widgets
  themselves running in the browser and the server side API code
  handling the incoming requests both to reduce the amount of data
  being transferred and the number of request/response 'round
  trips':
  
  - The Chart widget now uses a single server side persisted query
  instead of one property query per Business Capability within
  WSRR
  - The number of javascript files used by the widgets has been
  reduced
  - The enhanced search configuration is now cached
  - Multi-colored icons are no longer used in the Icon view in the
  Collection widget
  - Widget configuration is guaranteed to only be retrieved once
  - Content within HTTP responses from the REST and Atom APIs is
  now compressed (gzip encoded)
  - The number of requests made by the Navigator widget is no
  longer so dependent upon the number of objects it is rendering
  - All Business Model information is now retrieved by a single
  request
  - All Ontology information is now retrieved by a single request
  
  These changes are targeted for inclusion in fix pack 3 for WSRR
  v7.5.
