Error description
Error Message: When starting the JDK the Shared memory segment previously allocated for shared classes is not reused. . Stack Trace: N/A . using AIX and ipcs -am it is possible to see multiple shared memory segments.
Local fix
Change the effective group ID (egid) to the same as the Group ID (GID)
Problem summary
This problem is caused by the JVM comparing the GID of the user against the shared classes memory, but storing the EGID in the shared memory segment. Causing the JVM to create a new shared memory segment on startup.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 6.0.0 SR10 6.0.1 SR1 7.0.0 SR1 5.0.0 SR14 . The JVM has been updated to compare the EGID to the ID stored in the shared memory segment. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20111025 or later
