Problem summary

  • With Java 1.4.2 and Java 5 releases, if the encoding is not
found in the internal table then the system property
ibm.system.encoding defaults to Cp1047. But on Java 6 release
ibm.system.encoding defaults to null and then ascii codepage
ISO-8859-1 is used for the console output.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR10
    6.0.1 SR1
    7.0.0 SR1

    .
