Local fix

  • Identify the method with the problematic sequence.  Use
    -Xjit:exclude to exclude JIT compilation of the method.
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when the JIT compiler prematurely
    clobbering a value in register with the SR/SRL sequence. The
    failure will show up on Linux on Z and zOS platforms only.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.1 SR1
    7.0.0 SR1
    .
    The JVM has been updated to prevent the problem from occurring.

    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20110921 or later
