  • Error Message: While compiling a Java file in which
    type-variable is inferred from primitive type, javac use to fail
    with following error:-
    TestClass3.java:14: type parameters of <T>T cannot be
    determined; no unique maximal instance exists
    for type variable T with upper bounds int,java.lang.Object
       arraySize = getTarget(key + SIZE);

Problem summary

  • The boxing of primitive type was missing and hence when a type
    variable is inferred from a primitive type, javac use to fail.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR10
    .
    JVM has been updated to address the javac failure.
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20110817 or later
