Occassional periods of poor performance are seen during high
usage periods, typically lasting for a few seconds up to a
minute.

Problem summary


    

  • USERS AFFECTED: All using HPR, including EE.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A slowdown occurs in traffic over HPR pipes under stress after
gaps (lost packets from the remote system) have been detected.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
This can occur when the link is fast enough that the round trip
times are less than 1ms.

This problem exists only on version 6.4; earlier versions are
not affected.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • HPR code has been modified to correctly handle a re-FIFO timer
of less than 1ms.
