Error description
Error Message: JVM exited with GPF. Other behaviours are possible such as incorrect results returned from a JIT'd method. . Stack Trace: N/A . This is a rare problem that has so far only been seen with a large method that had been processed by a code obfuscation tool.
Local fix
The following option will avoid the problem: -Xjit:disableLocalVP This may cause a small reduction in application performance, although for many applications it will not be noticeable. If the application uses obfuscated code, then restricting the option to the obfuscated classes will further minimize any impact on performance. E.g. if the obfuscator produces classes in package com.a.a then the following filter could be used: -Xjit:{com/a/a/*}(disableLocalVP)
Problem summary
The problem is caused when an obfuscated method is incorrectly compiled.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 6.0.0 SR10 . The JIT has been modified to avoid the problem. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20110724 or later
