Error description

  • Error Message: JVMJ9VM090I Slow response to network query (130
    secs), check your IP DNS configuration

    Stack Trace: N/A

    Slow JVM startup as DNS lookup fails.
    

Local fix

  • A workaround for this issue is to change the machine IP hostname
    to fit within 32 characters.
    

Problem summary

  • The JVM used a 32 byte field to store the IP hostname, and
    truncated any longer hostnames.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR10
    .
    The JVM has been updated to store hostnames of up to 256
    characters.
    .
    To obtain the fix:
    Install build 20110618 or later
