APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • User set a 173 character path for the Macro/Script directory.
    Then opened the Keyboard Setup and Customize panel to change
    some key mapping. When the Customize Keyboard dialog is closed
    the emulator screen goes away and a PCSWS.EXE crash is logged
    in the Application Event log.
    
    It did not crash with a 141
    character path for the Macro/Script.

Problem summary

    Steps to recreate the problem:
    1. Open a PCOMM display session
    2. Connect to the host
    3. Go to Settings Menu-> Macro/Scripts
    4. Specify the Path Length of more than 173 Character under
    Macro/Scripts Directory
    5. Click OK
    6. Go to Settings Menu-> Keyboard Setup
    7. Click customize
    8. Set F1-> Ctrl to a macro name
    9. Save the Changes
    10. Exit out of the Dialog
    11. Click OK from Keyboard Setup panel and PCSWS will crash
    

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWS.EXE has been changed to set the Windows standard character
    length for macro directory path.
    
    Fix scheduled for PCOM 14.0.2 (32 bit) Refresh Pack
