Error description

  • HTTP server adapter throws "431 header too large" error after
upgrading to 5.2.6.4_1.

Upgrading from an older IBM B2B Integrator release to
5.2.6.4_1 displays
"431 header too large" error from the IBM B2B Integrator HTTP
Server Adapters.

Older IBM B2B Integrator releases used to have an entry in the
http.properties
file for conduit_header_buffer_size and increasing this
property from 4092 to larger value used to resolve this error.
But this property no longer exists in the 5.2.6.4_1
http.properties file.

Problem summary

  • HTTP server adapter throws "431 header too large" error after

Problem conclusion

  • Introduced new property 'RequestHeaderSize' in http.properties.
Configure the request header buffer size. Default value
is 8192 bytes.
