APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When an mqsichangeproperties command is issued against a
TCPIPClient type configurable service, all flows using
TCPIPClient configurable services are locked for update, and all
such TCPIP connections are closed and restarted. The
TCPIPDirector should only lock flows that use the named
configurable service that has changed, and leave the connections
used by other configurable service names unchanged.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM Integration Bus v10 who use multiple
TCPIPClient configurable services in conjuction with TCPIPClient
    nodes.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An mqsichangeproperties command issued against a TCPIPClient
configurable service will cause all flows using TCPIPClient
nodes to drop and re-open their existing connections, including
flows which are not using configurable services affected by the
    mqsichangeproperties command.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR introduces an environment variable
MQSI_TCPIP_DONT_STOP_ALL_CLIENTS_ON_REFRESH which, if set to any
non-null value, will only cause the flows affected by the
configurable service change to drop and re-open their
    connections.
