Error description
I am using PCOMM V13.0.2 version. The same error occurred on V13.0.0 before I upgraded. When I connect to z/OS TN3270 without security everything works fine. When I change the session to connect in with 'Enable Security' checked then everything works fine up to a certain point. Then I type in the INGLIST command under SAZOS and I get either a full screen of data with x-clock (keyboard never unlocks) or I get some of the screen with an XPROG755 in the OIA. The only way to get out of this is to use Windows task manager to terminate everything called PCSWS.EXE and PCSCM.EXE. Then I can restart PCOMM.
Local fix
Add keyword - ReceiveBufferSize=32768 to Telnet3270 section of WS profile
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All IBM Personal Communications users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * When a user switches from an active non-secure session to a * * secure session and then issues some host command that sends * * a large amount of data, the user may get X-clock or PROG753 * * error. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a PCOM non-secure session 2. Connect to the 3270 host 3. Go to Communication - Configure - Link Parameters - Security Setup and check the Enable Security box 4. Enter the secure port number 5. Click Apply and OK 6. Click OK for re-connection 7. Login to host and traverse to the host screen that sends a large amount of data to the emulator Either of the below errors may be seen by the user. 1. X-Clock will appear in the OIA 2. Partial screen updates with PROG753 in the OIA
Problem conclusion
PCOM used to read the Security configuration settings only when launching the session and allocated the Receive Buffer Size memory of 8k for non-secure and 32k for secure sessions. When the user switches from active non-secure to secure, PCOM was not re-allocating the Receive Buffer Size to 32k. PCSTLNET.DLL has been changed to read the Security configuration settings even when the user re-connects so the correct Receive Buffer Size memory is allocated for secure sessions. Fix scheduled for PCOM 12.0.5 and 13.0.3 and 14.0.1 Refresh Packs
