Error description

  • When the client receives an unknown Windows return code the
    client can log an ANS1999E error and the backup operation may
    terminate.

Local fix

  •  Specifying the following testflag in the client option file,
    replace XXX with the Windows return code being received, this
    will allow the operation to continue.
    testflag CONTINUEWITHUNKNOWNRC: XXX
    Using the testlag re-maps  the Win32 error code to our
    RC_ACCESS_DENIED.  With this testflag TSM skips the file for
    which the unknown return code is returned, issues a message and
    continues.

Problem conclusion

  • Windows returned codes 362, 381 and 395 will be mapped to the
    RC_ACCESS_DENIED, so backup will continue.
