Error description

  • Customer is reporting that he sees over thousand database
connections when he runs a REST API Perl script to update about
300 user accounts. Similar results are seen when he runs read
    user accounts.

Customer restarted SI to reset database connections. The
customer ran the following command to determine the number of
    liberty server database connections:

    netstat -anop | grep 1521 | grep <liberty pid>

This initially returned 7 database connections. There were 35
noapp database connections which remained consistent throughout
    our testing.

The customer ran the Perl script to read 1 user account and
liberty database connections stayed at 7. Customer then ran
Perl script to read 302 user accounts and database connections
increased to 102. The database connections were not removed
when the script finished. Customer ran Perl script again to
read the same 302 user accounts and database connections
increased to 204. 102 connections are being added, everytime the
    script runs.

Noted one occurrence of the "pool maximum size exceeded"
    message in the messages.log file:

WARNING!!! Pool maximum size exceeded 1 time in 300000(ms).
Consider increasing MaxSize on pool: oraclePool_NoTrans
