APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using RHEL7.x and GPFS 4.2.3.7 (GPFS pattern type 1.2.10.0) on
a virtual machine. Upon restart of the VM, GPFS is not started
as expected.

Local fix

  • 1. ssh into the VM where GPFS is installed.
2. sudo /bin/bash
3. Run su - gpfsprod -c 'sudo /usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmstartup'  to
manually start up GPFS.

Problem summary

  • GPFS client not starting after reboot of RHEL7 system.

Problem conclusion

  • This has been fixed in PureApplication Fixpack 2.2.5.3.
