APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A network failure can set the local volume's replication role
to 'none' instead of either 'primary' or 'aux' in the database.
This will remove the relationship between the primary and the
aux volumes.
Indicators:
In the system events log:
CWZIP9499E The remote copy relationship of storage volume
{EXAMPLE_VOLUME} will be removed because it is incompatible
with the volume's block storage replication role
In  the dr.query_mirror_status job logs:
CWZIP3700E Unexpected exception class
java.net.ConnectException,
stack_trace=java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

Local fix

  • Manually re-add volumes to replication and restart replication

Problem summary

  • PureApplication System Block Storage Replication loses
configuration after network failure.

Problem conclusion

  • This has been fixed in PureApplication Fixpack 2.2.5.3.
