APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An instance of Linux was found to have had weak permissions set
on directories which were hosting services running under the
SYSTEM account.
These access rights would enable any member of the built-in
Users group to write/append data the affected directories.

Local fix

  • 1. Delete the directory /root/AE_installation
2. chmod o-wx /opt/tivoli/tsm
3. chmod -R o-wx /opt/IBM/maestro/ITM
4. chmod o+wx /opt/IBM/maestro/ITM/tmp

Problem summary

  • Linux Cloud VM - Weak Permissions on Service Directory.

Problem conclusion

  • This has been fixed in PureApplication Fixpack 2.2.5.3.
