Error description

  • CDSA suspend queue processing appears to stall when there are
    over 1000 suspended sessions.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
    All

    Problem Description:
In burst scenarios where 1000s of BPs are attempting (at
virtually the same time) to transmit a file from a CDSA (PNODE)
to a remote node (SNODE) which is severely restricted to less
than 5 concurrent sesssions, suspend queue processing appears to
"stall" becuase of the pace at which the queued entries are
    resumed.

    Platforms Affected:
    Unix/Linux
    Windows
    iSeries

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:

    A code fix is provided.
Depending on session limit restrictions, burst scenarios can
significantly increase the SHSL suspend queue depth. Prior to
the fix, the deeper the queue became, the slower its processing
became. After the fix, queue depth has virtually no impact on
queue processing; performance is significantly improved,
    especially in burst scenarios.
