Error description

  • If a runmqsc command is used with ALTER CHANNEL SSLCIPH('') to
clear a previously used CipherSpec it then fails with error
message
"AMQ8242: SSLCIPH definition wrong."
whilst running IBM Websphere MQ 5.3.1.13."

Problem summary


    

  •  The 'empty' CipherSpec used for clearing
this attribute was missing in MQ's internal CipherSpec
list.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  •  The missing CipherSpecused
for clearing this attribute has been added to the
internal CipherSpec list.

    



Temporary fix


    

  •  Redefine the channel usingthe
'DEFINE CHANNEL ... REPLACE' command in runmqsc instead
of 'ALTER CHANNEL' will circumvent this problem.
