• The 'Backup VM' process might crash while communicating with the
  vCenter when there are network errors.

  Note: The Backup-Archive Client is a prerequisite to using the
  Data Protection for VMware. In Data Protection for VMware
  environments, the Backup-Archive Client is also known as the
  data mover.

  Environments: Data Protection for VMware 8.1. If you are using
  Data Protection for VMware 8.1, refer to APAR IT21949

Local fix

• Ensure communications between the data mover client host and the
   vCenter is working and retry the backup.
