Error description

  • When displaying the RVERSION channel status property via DISPLAY
    CHSTATUS for an MQ managed V9 .Net Client Connecting to a Queue
    Manager the version of the remote MQ code identified by RVERSION
    is incorrectly showing as (08000000).  The DISPLAY CHSTATUS
    output shows as below:

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of managed .Net client applications attempting to find the
    RVERSION property of a channel.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Windows
    
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The managed .Net client did not have the correct version coded
    and hence passed the old value down to the queue manager on
    connection, causing the queue manager's channel status to
    display the RVERSION as RVERSION(08000000).
    

Problem conclusion

  • The managed .Net client code now passes RVERSION of a connected
    V9 channel as RVERSION(09000000).
    
    APAR IT23486 made further changes so that the Managed .Net
    client code now passes the maintenance level information too and
    so it is recommended that users review the details of that APAR
    in combination with this one.
