Error description

  • In the manual section :
    
    -> Clients
    -> Configuring backup-archive clients
    -> Configure the IBM Spectrum Protect client
    -> Configuring NetApp and IBM Spectrum Protect for snapshot
    difference incremental backups
    -> Protecting clustered-data ONTAP NetApp file server volumes
    
    in step 2, the following command has the incorrect order for the
    arguments :
    
     "dsmc set netappsvm management_filer_hostname
                         storage_virtual_machine_hostname
                         storage_virtual_machine_name"
    
    as documented in the client command reference for 'SET
    NETAPPSVM' :
    
    SET NETAPPSVM svm_hostname cms_hostname svm_name
    
    it should be :
    
     "dsmc set netappsvm storage_virtual_machine_hostname
                         management_filer_hostname
                         storage_virtual_machine_name"
    
    Using incorrect netappsvm arguments can produce the following
    type of message on a filer volume backup attempt :
    
    ANS1626E An unexpected error was encountered when processing a
    IBM Spectrum Protect operation using a hardware or snapshot
    function.
