Error description

  • The MQ 9 Knowledge Center wrongly states:

"Note that you should only use MCA interception when you are
prevented from disabling AMS at the client"

This is incorrect as MCA interception is intended to provide AMS
    capability when
AMS cannot be enabled at the client.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users reviewing the IBM MQ Knowledge Center
for information on MQ Advanced Message Security (AMS) Message
    Channel Agent (MCA) interception.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The information in the Knowledge Center was incorrect, as MCA
interception is intended to provide AMS capability when
AMS cannot be enabled at the client. Using MCA interception and
an AMS-enabled client will lead to double-protection of messages
which may be problematic for receiving applications.
