IT20103: CLIENT AUTO DEPLOY FAILS DURING THE VC++ PORTION OF THE INSTALLATION

Error description

  • It is possible for the client auto deploy to fail with the
    following message in the setup.log file.

    exiting.
    
    This is caused by the system not having the Windows 8.3 name
    creation enabled.
    
    So when a path is specified in the client installation code that
    has spaces in it, the installation will fail.

Problem conclusion

  • Additional quotation marks added into batch files related to
    Automatic client deployment allow to resolve the problem with
    incorrect parsing of
    a long path on Windows on which short (8.3) names are disabled.
