Error description

  • When trying to build a User defined project, the following
    exception occurs:

    java.lang.NullPointerException
     at com.ibm.etools.gef.emf.EMFPaletteRoot.addPaletteDrawer
    (EMFPaletteRoot.java:526)
     at com.ibm.etools.gef.emf.EMFPaletteRoot.addPaletteDrawers
    (EMFPaletteRoot.java:506)
     at com.ibm.etools.gef.emf.EMFPaletteRoot.resetToDefaults
    (EMFPaletteRoot.java:641)
     at
    com.ibm.etools.gef.emf.EMFPaletteRoot.<init>(EMFPaletteRoot.java
    : 483)

Also, if you select the palette editor on the UDN and select
the category then another error occurs indicating an argument
    cannot be null.

The feature site is also not correctly stored if using a UDN
    imported from an existing directory.
This causes the feature to be in the root directory where the
    UDN was created.
This will stop any other UDNs to be packaged correctly and will
cause problems if the user deletes
    the feature project.

Problem conclusion

  • The null pointer exception no longer occurs and the feature
project directory is located under the workspace and not in the
root directory where the User defined Node was created.
